Personal
I am sure you already know that I am Victoria Arya, the head honcho and guru here at Life Starring the Kids & Me. I am a married stay at home mom to two little girls: Ellie, who is 2, turning 3 in September, and Eve who turns 1 in June. I am also expecting my third child, yes another girl, sometime in late October. Need a little bit more to go on?
Well, I graduated from UVA with a degree in History and Religious Studies. I focused on African history and even more specifically HIV/AIDS in contemporary South Africa…yes, a very concentrated course of study. I loved the writing and research that came with a history major. I had planned on going into academia, but when I realized that I would have to deal with frat boys who came to class drunk or hungover, I decided that I was perhaps better suited to writing and researching. And now, I have found a great job as “mom” and as the founder and editor of Life Starring the Kids & Me! a mom blog and review site that is dedicating to finding cool gear for the entire family and to letting readers into my own private sanctum known as “Victoria’s brain”. I love to review stuff, write about whatever comes to mind, take care of the girls, have fun, and I love traveling even though I don’t get to travel all that much.
Ellie was born Sept. 26, 2006 and she is and always has been a very outgoing and personable girl and she loves to play with other kids and adults. She also tends to be pretty fearless, which is how she chipped her front tooth; luckily we have stayed away from broken bones so far. Some of her favorite activities include art, playing outside, eating, reading and shopping (yes I am serious she likes to shop). Ellie is also a great big sister to Eve, who was born June 16, 2008. Eve in looks, is the polar opposite of Ellie; she is dark where Ellie is fair, she has light eyes while Ellie has dark, and she has dark brown hair while Ellie is blond. But, in terms of temperament they are both very similar to each other. Eve is also an outgoing and gregarious baby and really enjoys interacting with others. She also likes to explore and is now walking and picking up words…her first word was “ball”. Her favorite activities include: eating, chewing on whatever she can get her hands on, climbing on people and making a break for the cats’ water bowl to play in it.
I am married to Mike. You will hear about him from time to time, and maybe I can convince him to do an occasional post…just don’t ask him what it is like living with me, you will get a book!
