What’s Up in Aryatown and a Couple Quick Things of Interest for Y’all

Submitted by Victoria Arya on November 10, 2009 – 11:18 am7 Comments

I think I purposely blocked out how hard having a newborn was.  Let me be clear…Emmy is about the easiest baby; she enjoys the car, she rarely cries for no reason and she sleeps well during the night…so tell me why I look like a wreck, probably smell even worse and have no energy…seriously leaving the house right now sounds downright scary…scary scary scary.  I need to get over that hump sooner or later!  The girls are good but I swear they are going to revolt if I keep them at home much longer and I have to say that some fresh air for me wouldn’t be a bad thing for me.  I’m not in as much pain a I was so I am not walking about in a drug induced fog…it’s time to get moving…plus how the heck else am I going to start burning off those extra lbs that I gained because I wasn’t really paying attention…GO ME! *Insert a major eye roll*

Now, onto announcements:

* Cissy @ Cool Baby Kid (one of the most awesome and nicest bloggers on the web) is having a 2nd Year Blogoversary Giveaway which y’all should go check out.  Tons of prizes and the package is valued at $450.

* M.A.Z.E Cord Blood Laboratories is offer a $100 Voucher off the price of Cord Blood Storage.  If you are pregnant and this is an option that you are interested in pursuing check out the offer here.

* With Christmas just around the corner (where did the time go?) I have already started looking for the girls’ PJs and I have to say that I am enamoured with a new company called Douglas & Cocoa, which makes asian inspired PJs, Kimono Sets and Blankets for kids.  If you are looking for unique garb for your kiddos for Christmas or just because, go check out Douglas & Cocoa!

  • It sounds like you are doing better. I know what you mean about being scared to go out with 3 kids by yourself. It took me a while to get the courage up to go out with my kids. You’ll do it and won’t be as scary as you thought. Plus, you’ll be amazed by all the help people offer you when they see you juggling 3 kids. Plus, at least the baby sleeps a lot now, so you can get more things done.

    Hugs!!!

I’m glad you’re not in so much pain now, and I’m glad your little girl is such an angel. Mine all were too, thank goodness. Taking them out won’t be as scary as you might think. I have four, and while it was sometimes a challenge to have the older three out together (the baby’s way younger than the others, so I’m not counting him in this example), more times than not everything went smooth as butter. :) Your older two will probably want to stick close to you and the baby too, and if that happens, it’ll make things way easier. I predict you’ll be up and running, and back to normal in no time. Until then, enjoy the excuse you have to rest a bit. Goodness knows we (moms) don’t get very many valid excuses for that. :)

Sounds like you’re mustering up the courage to handle 3 outside of home. I was totally with you on that one! Then one day I just went out. I’ll tell you, it was a little rough, but I lived through it. And now I’d say I’m downright good at taking out the 3 little girls. :) I even take them all to the grocery store! You’ll get it. Just know, I was there once too. You’re not alone.

Oh, we really don’t want to talk about needing to get out of the house, eat right, exercise, and all that… do we? ;) Seriously, I can so relate! I don’t have a newborn or even a toddler anymore :( , but yet I *still* struggle w/ needing to get out more.

  • I hear ya about getting out of the house. I have a one year old and a three year old and think it’s a challenge! I don’t envy you trying to get out and about with 3 kids.

Hope you’re feeling better and enjoying your wee one.

  • Newborns are hard when you’re tired and exhausted even if they are an easy baby (Love the name Emmy btw). I think if moms weren’t specialists with unconditional love, we might remember the exhaustion, and there wouldn’t be any siblings.
    Am glad you’re feeling better!

I am amazed at your ’spunk’ if that’s the word I’m looking for? Your get up and go attitude, the knowledge that you need to get out for fresh air. I’m sure it won’t be as bad as you think though, like Shannon said I’m certain people will offer to help you out with things I know I always do. It won’t be easy but I am certain you will feel better for at least a few breaths of fresh air :)
