Zutano-Comfortable, Stylish and Unique Clothing for Babies and Toddlers

Submitted by Victoria Arya on October 31, 2009 – 7:15 pm2 Comments

I like my kids look stylish…even if I usually look like soemthing the cat dragged in LOL.  But, while I like to have the kiddos looking good and and stylish, I don’t like them looking like every other kid out there; they will fall into that pattern as they get older and it becomes “cool” to follow the trends.  So, with this in mind I tend to look for clothing and companies that are distinctive, fun and that also create styles that last and that are play-worthy.  And my philosophy about children’s clothes even applies to newborns…although I don’t really need to focus on the play-worthiness; I rather focus on sleep-worthiness :-)

One of my favorite kids clothing companies is Zutano, who I first found when Ellie was a baby and I was drolling overemmy-zutano-itzy-bitzy another little girl’s clothing at the park one day.  After practically begging the other mom to tell me what brand it was I went online and fell in love.  One of the reasons that I love Zutano so much is the mix and match quality of their items.  I don’t happen to be a huge matchy matchy person, but I like things that go together without being well…matchy.  Zutano’s products are mix and match, not because the patterns are similar…mostly it is because the styles lend themselves to being paired together…it sounds a bit odd but it’s true.  Both Ellie and Eve has Zutano clothing and when they are wearing their outfits they are flippin’ adorable if I do say so myself.

But, when Ellie and Eve were little little I never checked to see if Zutano made clothing for newborns, for some reason it didn’t occur to me.  But, this time around I was smarter and checked them out and found that they make a line of clothing called Itzy Bitzy which is specifically for babies.  I received a couple of pieces from the Itzy Bitzy collection and I have to say that they are darling (of course).  I love the fact that they are made out of a soft cotton material that won’t scratch or irritate baby’s skin, but at the same time the fabric isn’t cheap and will last through multiple washings and even multiple kids (I love love love being able to re-use clothes and with three girls…)

Like the main Zutano collection or the older kiddo, Itzy Bitzy collection comes in great eye catching and stylish patterns that can be mixed and matched.  The styles are basic and simple, like kimono tops and knit pants, and they are perfect for a newborn or small infant who should be wearing simple clothing in order to be the most comfortable they can be (outside of naked LOL).  One of the things that I find really cute is the fact that the Itzy bitzy collection also has accessories that can be bought that compliment their clothing…while I don’t do matchy matchy, I do tend to go with complimenting pieces and styles.

So, overall what do I think of Itzy Bitzy and Zutano?  I love the clothing, I love the styles and I love the patterns and the colors.  And after having both of my older girls wearing Zutano products for a while, I know that the company makes clothing that stands the test of toddler play and a mom’s inept washing habits.
